The Keynote Speakers

Prof Dame Molly Stevens FREng FRS is the John Black Professor of Bionanoscience at the Department of Physiology, Anatomy & Genetics at the University of Oxford and Deputy Director of the Kavli Institute for Nanoscience Discovery. Professor Stevens has won >40 awards and is a Fellow of 8 Professional Bodies, including the Royal Society (FRS) and Royal Academy of Engineering (FREng). She has a keen interest in EV analytics, leading to a novel EV analytical detection system spinout.

Prof David Greening is Head of Molecular Proteomics at Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute, Director of the Proteomics and Metabolomics Platform at La Trobe University, and group leader at Baker Department of Cardiovascular Research, Translation and Implementation. He is co-founder/past-President of the Australian & New Zealand Society for Extracellular Vesicles (ANZSEV) and key advocate for the development and integration of EV science and knowledge in the region.

Dr Pascale Zimmermann is an associate professor at the Department of Human Genetics at the University of Leuven in Belgium and at the Centre de Recherche en Cancérologie de Marseille & Institut Paoli-Calmettes in France. Her interests include how membrane-associated scaffold proteins and lipids participate in cell signaling, multicellular organization/homeostasis, and membrane trafficking for proteoglycans, the role of phospholipids in the function of PDZ proteins, and the molecular mechanisms of exosome biogenesis. She is on the board of the Belgian Society for EVs.

Dr Karen Forbes is an associate professor at the University of Leeds. Dr Forbes research focuses on understanding how factors in the maternal environment (diet, microRNAs and extracellular vesicles) contribute to altered placental and fetal growth, and long-term health of the offspring, particularly in pregnancies complicated by maternal diabetes.
